Attendance at classes and procedures in the event of absence
A pupil’s enrolment at the school implies the right and the obligation to participate in all the lessons on the curriculum and to carry out the assigned work.
Participation in all lessons means attending classes regularly and punctually, according to a school calendar and timetable communicated to the pupil at the beginning of the year.
Teachers record pupils’ absences on a daily basis. At the end of each term, the school draws up a list of absences for each pupil.
Absence due to illness
After an absence of more than two days, primary and secondary pupils will only be allowed to return to school on production of a medical certificate by the pupil’s legal representatives.
If you have any questions, please contact the Educational advisor.
Absences on personal grounds
Only the Director may give a pupil permission to be absent from school. Except in cases of force majeure, the pupil’s legal representatives must apply for such permission at least one week in advance. Applications must be made in writing, indicating the period of absence and giving reasons. Permission may be granted for a maximum of two days plus reasonable travelling time. Except in cases of force majeure, permission may not be granted for the week preceding or the week following school holiday periods or public holidays (Art. 30.3. c) of the General Rules of the European Schools).
If you have any questions, please contact the Educational advisor.
The management of justifications for absences from classes or examinations is subject to precise rules set out in Article 30 of the General Rules of the European Schools available on www.eursc.eu.
