School curricula
All language sections follow the same curriculum for all subjects, except for mother tongue (L1).
Curriculum objectives
The European Schools aim to provide a modern and innovative curriculum, closely aligned with the national education systems of the Member States.
To ensure the recognition of the European Baccalaureate, all syllabuses meet at least the minimum academic requirements common to all countries.
Each programme is developed or reviewed by national inspectors and educational experts, in collaboration with the Pedagogical Development Unit, and is subject to regular evaluation and quality assurance.
The Joint Teaching Committee oversees the approval of the syllabuses, which are generally updated every ten years.
