To all members of our school community
First and foremost I would like to welcome you all to the new school year. I was very touched by your messages of support and congratulations. Thank you so much!
It is with great pleasure and a real sense of responsibility that I accepted the post of Director of the European School Brussels 1 (Uccle) from the 1st of September 2010.
It is a real privilege to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors, particularly Mr Kivinen, from whom I learnt so much.I look forward to continuing my collaboration with the new Deputy Director for secondary, Mrs Meyer, and Mrs Nordstroem, Deputy Director for nursery and primary.
True to our school motto “living together, learning together, working together” I assure you that I will, together with my team, ensure that our pupils and staff have the equipment and the conditions of work necessary to allow them to recognise the value of effort and the joy of learning in a safe and stimulating environment.
During my two years as Deputy Director of Secondary I had the good fortune to work in close collaboration with many different members of our school community. I hope that in my new position I can continue to create an atmosphere which will help our pupils in their academic and personal development.

As some of you may have already noticed major road works are being carried out in the avenue du Vert Chasseur.
Meetings have been held concerning this issue and detailed information about how to access the school will be given to parents, pupils and members of staff on the school website before the start of the school next Tuesday.
